Pyengana has a rich history of cheese making, with the first rounds being produced as early as the 1880's by local dairy farmers. It is upon this foundation that Pyengana Clothbound Cheddar was born.

Jon Healey, in an attempt to add value to his family's struggling dairy, took a gamble and began making cheese as his ancestors had done before him. It took a few years to get the cheese wheel rolling, but after winning a national award the orders started coming in thick and fast.

Today Pyengana is considered by cheese connoisseurs as Australia's best cheddar. Made by hand, bound in cloth, and matured for 12 months in the cellar of a local cafe. This truly is the height of Australian cheesemaking.
