Local Cocoa is the sister brand to Belgian Delights, a long established Australian chocolaterie with European roots located on the Gold Coast.
With ample sunshine, and our humid climate, Queensland is perfect for growing Cacoa. The unique terrior of the far north enhances the fruity characteristics of the beans (which are technically seeds it turns out). Raw cacao is hand-picked and processed up north and then shipped south to Local Cocoa, who then conch the cocoa mass & butter.
With a vast majority of Australian chocolatiers choosing to use the cheaper imported Cocoa, we love to see someone supporting the local industry.
